Where to go, What to do <Highlights <Places <central andes

This little town nestles in the foothills of the western Andes, on the  road which leads from Bucay up towards Colta and Riobamba. There is nothing to see in Pallatanga itself and unfortunately also a lack of good places to eat. However there are a few nice places to stay where you can enjoy the verdant landscape. Costeños come up here when the humidity gets oppressive on the coastal plain.
Apart from the activities inside the hosterias mentioned below, it is also possible to travel along dirt tracks into the surrounding hills to explore rivers and waterfalls.
