This sport, also known as rappelling, involves abseiling down a waterfall. It can be done in a number of places throughout Ecuador. Unless you are an expert you will have to take a tour but they are generally inexpensive.
Baños is a popular place to do this activity given the number of tour agencies and competitive prices. Guides might take you to the casadas de Chamana or San Jorge.
The Piedra Blanca waterfall near Bucay is a good option in the southern lowlands. First you have to get yourself to the Casa de Piedra at the foot of the rough track leading uphill. The guide will take you up to the waterfall, an adventure in itself. $20.
